What we do

Surgery, imaging and pain care under one roof — or under yours

The center is built for the procedures that a general practice would rather not take on alone, without the cost structure and logistics of a large referral hospital.

Orthopedic surgery

TPLO, fracture repair, FHO, patella luxation and more — the procedures that get a painful leg working again.

Soft tissue surgery

Mass removal, splenectomy, abdominal exploratory, foreign body retrieval and the full range of general soft tissue work.

CT imaging

Cross-sectional imaging for surgical planning and staging, so the plan is built on what is actually there.

Regenerative & pain care

Therapeutic laser, platelet-rich plasma and joint injections — comfort measured in months, not just the week after surgery.

The surgeon

Two guiding principles, in that order

Dr. Rosemary Lombardi founded Operational Wellness after more than a decade as surgical director of a Long Island specialty hospital. The practice exists to complement the primary care veterinarian — never to replace them — and to make excellent surgical care reachable for the families who need it.

Primum non nocere

First, do no harm

Every decision starts with whether the procedure is genuinely the right thing for this patient — including the decision not to operate.

Dolores relevare

Relief of pain

Pain control is planned before the first incision and carried through the whole recovery, not added on afterward.

More about Dr. Lombardi

Every procedure, with compassion

A commitment to excellence is the baseline. How your pet is handled while they are frightened and sore is the part that matters to you — and it is the part we take most seriously.

Partnered with 24-hour facilities

Cases that need advanced monitoring or an overnight stay are coordinated with trusted 24-hour hospitals, so the level of care always matches the case.

Care that stays local

Mobile surgery keeps your pet in the hospital they already know, with the staff they already trust, and the follow-up right where it belongs.

Next step

Ready to talk about your pet — or your patient?

Owners: bring your veterinarian into the conversation and we will take it from there. Veterinarians: send the records and let's build a plan.
